Suzi Davey, OTR/L, CLT-LANA, CLWT received her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut in 1995. She has been a specialist and expert in the field of Lymphedema Management since 1998. Suzi is certified by the Dr. Vodder School North America in Manual Lymph Drainage and Combined Decongestive Therapy and LANA (Lymphology Association of North America) certified since 2000. In 1999, Suzi started Healing Hands of Lymphatics LLC in Hallandale Beach/Miami, Florida creating one of the first therapist-owned Lymphedema clinics in the South Florida area. Her practice eventually grew to 3 locations with 8 certified Lymphedema Therapists specializing in all aspects of Lymphedema and Wound Care therapy. She founded the Florida Lymphedema Therapist Networking Group and expanded her practice to create Healing Hand Seminars in 2010 after she saw the need to bring together all specialized Lymphedema and Wound Care practitioners to learn and share with each other. In 2012, Suzi relocated to Durban, South Africa and sold Healing Hands of Lymphatics LLC to her employees in 2014. She is now an Executive Committee member of Education in LAOSA--Lymphatic Association of South Africa, and a member of the National Lymphedema Network, Lymphedema Education & Research Network and the International Society of Lymphology. Since moving to South Africa she has been busy as a Lymphedema consultant, certified trainer and expert custom garment fitter for BSN Medical South Africa assisting them with the launch of their Lymphatic Division for South Africa. She has extensive training in Wound Care, Low Level Laser, Kinesiology Elastic Taping, alternative compression garments/devices and pneumatic compression specifically for Lymphoedema / Oedema. Suzi has also been involved in Clinical Lymphedema Research since 2005 collaborating with Nova Southeastern University in Florida. She has published and presented research papers, posters and publications at numerous national and international Lymphoedema, Wound Care and Physical Therapy conferences world-wide. She now resides in Cape Town, South Africa. Due to her passion and drive to increase awareness and knowledge for all medical and healthcare professionals about Lymphedema Care and Management, Suzi is very excited to announce her collaboration with ILWTI as the founding Facilitator in bringing Lymphedema and Wound Care Training dual certification course to South Africa and eventually all of Africa.
